Suspension Rebuild - Giant Reign 2 2012

Year: 2012
Serial number: 402076 – SERVICE (Located btm of steerer tube) (CSU may have been replaced)
Model: Fox 32 FLOAT RL w/ 15QR axle and 1.5” Tapered Steerer, 5.9Ó/150mm Travel

  1. Oils:
    1. FOX Green OR Red 10 wt.  (Interchangeable as long as 10 wt.)
    1. FOX Float Fluid

Fox service confirmed that their engineers confirmed that there is no performance difference between Green 10 wt. and Red 10 wt. oils in term of performance in my fork.

  • Oil Volumes:
    • Damper-side oil bath: 165 mL FOX Green 10 wt. -OR- FOX Red 10 wt.
    • Spring-side oil bath: 30 mL FOX Green 10 wt. -OR- FOX Red 10 wt.
    • Air Chamber: 5 mL FOX Float Fluid

  • Torque spec for air/damper rod nuts: 55 inch lbs

  • Seal Kits:
    • Lowers Kit: Dust Wiper, Forx, 32mm, Low Friction, No flange (803-00-944)(FTW 825289)
    • Air Spring Kit: 32 FLOAT NA2 Rebuild (803-00-962)(FTW 813072)
  • Do I need to service the Damper side?  Yes, Fox guy said it’s probably the most important thing to service if only one part of the fork was to be serviced.
  • Is Damper seal kit even available anymore?  No, but Risse Cycles (out of Oregon) may have.
  • Air Volume Adjustment:
    • Spacer compatible: No (all pre-2016 do not have this technology)
    • By oil volume in top side of air chamber? Maybe
    • Can I run a newer NA2 Topcap Assembly to use modern volume spacers?  No, diameter and thread pitch has changed from 2016 – on.

RP2: 2-position ProPedal  lever (on/off), air spring pressure, rebound, angled air valve

Its for Float DPS which is very similar according to Fox service.

  1. Oils:  Float Fluid & Damper oil unknown w/o serial
  2. Oil Volumes:
    1. Inside Can: 5 mL FOX Float Fluid (half of included 10 mL sachet)
    1. Damper: Unknown without serial number

  3. Torque specs:  None to worry about

  4. Seal Kits:
    1. Air Spring Kit: Rebuild, FLOAT Line Air Sleeve, Special Q-Ring (803-00-142)(FTW 811866)

  1. 26 mm chamfer-less socket
  2. Fox Lower Leg Removal Tool (OR use a piece of dowel with hole drilled in it)
